[bg=green] ryan walked into the nearset and only coffee place he could fine. the warm cozy feel felt good against the cold wet from the outside. he quietly stood in line to order and pay. the man ordered a carmel latte with whip cream before heading over to one of the tables set up. ryan glanced around. the walls were painted a nice calming brown that made the room even cozier. on the walls hung inspirational pictures with quotes on them, and scattered around the cafe was tables, couches, chairs and other places where people could sit and drink their beverage.
ryan had awoken at just after 4:00 that morninng from some more of his nightmares. he couldn't get back to sleep so he had gotten up and did some stuff around the house. he decided he should get out and so he threw a pair of dark jeans, long sleeve t-shirt and his black hiking boots. he felt a little funny looking like this at a cafe at just after 8:00 am. ryan sighed as he took a sip of his large latte. She took her car keys, shoved them in her pocket, pulled her hood over her head, and ran to the Starbucks place across the street. As she entered, she pulled off her hood and straightened out her hair. Alex made her way over to the counter and pulled out her wallet. "One medium house roast coffee." she said and handed the cashier her credit card. The cashier swiped her card, had Alex sign the reciept, and handed her back her card. "Your coffee will be ready at the window in a moment, ma'am." said the cashier, motioning toward the end of the counter. "Thank you." Alex replied and walked over to the end of the counter. She put the reciept in her wallet and put her wallet back in her pocket. In just a few moments, Alex's coffee was ready for her. She took it over to the small table where all the other things you could put in your coffee were. Alex put some coffee creamer into the cup and stirred it up. Then she took a sip of the hot beverage and sighed happily. Tastes great! she thought as she went to go sit down in a booth seat.[/ul] ----------------------------------------------------Template created by SARAH of CAUTION 2.0

Ryan drank his warm drink as he thought about what he was going to do that day. He was completely free! That's a first! the mid-twenty year old though to himself. He gave a small grin to no one in particular, before he began looking around again. He must look pretty lonely. Almost everyone in the whole Starbucks was sitting with someone, but one women.
Ryan watched as she sat down at the booth and felt something from her. He could sense that she was friendly and just like that he wanted to know her. It was the first time since he had been back from the war that he had felt that feeling, and the last time before that was his best friend that died in his arms, but nobody knew about that and Ryan interned to keep it that way. His friend had been a women who came from Oaklahoma also. She had opted to join the army because she always dreamed of fighting for her country, and she aaa strong and stubborn as hell. The two of them were partners and she had been his best friend. He had planned to propose to her once they got back from their mission, but his chance got stolen from him when she was shot and died as he watched her breath her last breathe.
Ryan quickly came back to reality. He didn't want to be seen crying in Starbucks just a few days back in Oakdale. He turned his mind over to the girl. She was pretty. A blonde with nice features. But he wasn't looking for a girlfriend, not yet anyways.
Ryan finally got up and swiftly took his latte with him as he walked over to the booth with the pretty girl. He stood by the booth. He didn't want to be impolite or bother her so he gave her a grin. May I? Ryan asked guestering to the side of the booth on the opposite side of her.

DATE: August 3 | TAG: Ryan | WORDS: 215 | OUTFIT: HERE---------------------------------------------------- she thought to herself. She pulled down the sleeves of her hoodie and sighed again. As she turned her head to the other side to look around Starbucks, she saw a guy walking over to her. I wonder what he's gonna say. she thought and sipped her coffee. Guys where she was from had been known to use cheesey lines when they saw a girl and decided to talk to her. Alex was half expecting the same from this guy, but also expected something different since she was a long ways away from where she was from. "May I?" he asked as he gestured to the booth seat across from her. Alex nodded and said, "Go ahead. I don't mind." A shiver went through her body and she smiled. "Sorry. I'm just really cold even though I already have a long sleeve shirt and a sweater on." Lex apologized for her sudden chills. She took another sip of the coffee, letting the hot beverage warm her from the inside. Ryan could see deep in her eyes the thought she was thinking as he walked over. He knew she probably thought he was like some of the other assholes in Oakdale. He forgave her for that, because she seemed nice, and there really was some bad guys around here.
When she told him it was okay he sat down. He gently placed the cup on the table so it was completely silent as he did so. He watched as she shivered and smiled at her when she explained. "It is pretty cold out, isn't it." said Ryan as he glanced out the window. The rain came down in buckets as he sat in the safety of the Starbucks coffee shop. He gave a grateful grin to be able to have a roof over his head, as his mind wandered back to the war, but he quickly changed his train of thought.
"Oh, I am Ryan Stonebrook" he introduced himself to her giving a friendly smile. He knew that his name had quite a sorry behind it. His sister being called the "whore" and his other sister, the one out partying and always giving the family a bad name. Then there was him. He was always the good child. Trying to do his best in school, sports, and life in general. In his opinion he had succeeded with his goal of having a good life.
"And who are you?" asked Ryan. He gave her another one of his heart winning smiles.

She was beginning to warm up, but she was still cold. She smiled at him as he introduced himself. "I'm Alexandra Kaleo. Everybody calls me Alex though." Lex introduced herself. Alex rubbed her arms with both of her hands and let out a breath. She grabbed her coffee cup and took another sip of her coffe. This stuff is really good. I wonder why I never got this before. she thought. Alex came to Starbucks a lot, but she mostly made coffee at home with her coffee machine. Ryan took a sip of his latte and placed it back down, but he kept his hand on the warm cup. "It's nice to meet you Alex," he told her with a grin. He didn't recognize the name, and your name meant everything here so that etheir meant she was really quite or she was new to Oakdale.
"You teach riding lessons? That's cool!" Ryan had rode a horse as a child and it was sorta neat, but it felt almost cruel to be sitting on them and telling them where to go and how fast to do it, but he was also just stuck on pony ride when he was like 8. Horses, well animals in general always fascinated him. "So what do you teach in the lessons?" Ryan asked out of curiosity.

I might have to cancel that lesson. she thought. Alex sipped on her coffee and then set it down gently on the table, keeping both hands cupped around the hot drink. Definitely going to cancel that lesson. The little girl would be even colder than I am right now! she thought. "Yeah. I teach them at my new ranch. Only one person has signed up so far, but that's because I just opened them up." she explained and took another sip of her coffee. "So what do you teach in the lessons?" he asked. Alex smiled and replied, "I teach English style riding. You know. Show Jumping, Dressage, and Cross Country. Stuff like that." It was nice to talk about her job with other people.[/ul] ----------------------------------------------------Template created by SARAH of CAUTION 2.0

Ryan listened intently to what Alex was saying. It interested him. He liked her, but only as friend. He thought that they could be good friends, so it made it more important to him to listen and learn about Alex. "Thats pretty cool!" He told her. He had sometimes seen some English riding. He used to watch it on the Olympics, but that was when he was a child and he stopped watching it after his dad left.
He took another sip. He hadn't noticed, but his latte was halfway done. He didn't mind though. "So, what's new in life?" Ryan asked her. In his face showed pure intrest. He also wanted to keep the conversation going. He didn't want it to become weird.

She loved the thought of herself going over the jumps that the Olympians did. It's so cool... she thought as she took a sip of her coffee. She gave the cup a little swirl before concluding that she wasn't even half way done. It'll last me a bit while I reschedule the girl's lesson. she thought. "Well, I just moved here. I was visiting my cousin when I drove through Oakdale and I was in love with the town! So, after lots of conversing with my parents, I moved out here to that ranch." Alex explained. She was finally starting to warm up and began to relax a lot more. "I take it that you're from around here."[/ul] ----------------------------------------------------Template created by SARAH of CAUTION 2.0

"What do you love about?" Ryan asked her. He didn't really get how she loved this town. He would rather be fighting for his country rather than sitting around town. Oakdale was a dangerous place if you had a secret. Rumors were everywhere and secrets were released ever living minute that should had been taken to the grave. He turned his attention back to Alex.
"I guess you can say that. " Ryan's good mood dropped a bit, but he quickly brought it back up with a sip of his coffee. Whenever he answered to that question people had always asked what he meant. He expected the same from Alex, but it's not like he didn't like answering. It's more so he wishes he wasn't here. He wishes that Oakdale wasn't his home town.

Peaceful. I've always wanted to live somewhere where it's... Well, not in the city." She smiled and gave a little laugh at herself. As his face fell when he said, "I guess you could say that.", Alex immediately wanted to know what was up. She wasn't sure that she should ask him though out of respect of his personal life. "Cool. So, maybe you could show me around the town a little?" Alex asked hopefully. The loud boom of thunder could be heard outside. She gave him a smile, looked out the window, and looked back at him. "On a nicer day, that is. Trekking around town in this weather would give either of us a nasty cold." she added with a smile. It was weird. Ryan seemed as though he didn't like it here. But who wouldn't? This place seems so nice. she thought. Maybe there's something more to this town. She shook off the thought and looked out the window again. "Gosh. The rain is really coming down." she murmured and sipped her coffee. She took one of her hands, took out her phone really quick, and looked at Ryan. "If you'll excuse me for just one second, I need to cancel that riding lesson really quick." she said, typed something rapidly onto her iPhone, and then shoved it back in her pocket. "Done. See? Less than a few seconds. She ran a hand through her hair and sighed then took a sip of her coffee.[/ul] ----------------------------------------------------Template created by SARAH of CAUTION 2.0
